Bleed

The bleed is the part on the side of an image that gives the printer a small amount of space to account for movement of the paper.

This command applies to selected images. You can perform it in the menu Instruments → Bleed… [⇧⌘B] or in the toolbar with the icon Controllo abbondanza.

no bleed image
Image to trim at 21 x 29.7 cm

With the menu command Instruments → Bleed… [⇧⌘B] or the tool Controllo abbondanza in the toolbar, you get the following dialog:

bleed dialog
bleed image
Image enlarged of 0.3 cm each side = 21.6 x 30.3 cm

Tip: clicking on the icon Controllo abbondanza with the option [⌥] key pressed, the dialog is bypassed and last used parameters will be applied.

Trim marks, optionally placed on each corner of the image, are the classic ones. If you want to use the Fotoba® DIGITRIM marks, please refer to Fotoba® DIGITRIM topic.

Note: during this operation the asymmetric scale is necessarily activated for the images involved. To reset the scale to symmetric (loosing the bleed resize!) it is sufficient to click the icon Symmetrical / Asymmetrical resize / Symmetrical / Asymmetrical resize in the info panel.
